Education
We learn from real situations, cross-curricular, playful (the child's activity is more important than the teacher's activity). Play allows experimentation, problem solving and the creation of new ideas, develops memory and concentration. It is the basis of creativity. The joy of learning is a key factor for long-term motivation. Play develops social skills - cooperation, communication, conflict resolution skills.
We see freedom as a basic principle leading to taking responsibility for oneself and one's decisions. My personal space ends where another's space begins. We naturally set our boundaries, learning to take responsibility for ourselves and our behavior. We trust in self-regulation, each child's intrinsic motivation, and co-create a safe space based on acceptance and open communication.
Forming and nurturing relationships, as a permanent challenge of our concept, is a given. Partnership, as a form of cooperation between children and guides, builds on all previous principles. Listening, discussion, mutual respect, support, continuous development of communication skills, working with emotions and handling crisis situations are the qualities on which friendships are based and become a gift for the next journey through life.
Rediscovering natural learning
We come from a tradition of democratic, free schools where the teacher - the guide - is a fully supportive and respectful person. Education is three-tiered: primary, secondary and higher education, with continuing lifelong learning, for all residents of revitalized cities or new urban societies. Our New Education is funded by the income of the non-profit organization ONE GVS.
It is therefore free for all students of all nationalities, regardless of political, religious or other affiliations.
Democracy
We work on the basis of democratic decision-making, where the child has the same voice as the adult. This is how we make decisions about all aspects of the school, including making and enforcing rules. It follows that the needs of all members create the school environment. We promote deep integration of children and guides in the management of the community (school meetings, conflict mediation, committees for different areas of school life).
Groups
The education takes place in age-mixed groups. Older children are thus naturally motivated to be considerate of younger and weaker children. For the younger children they are an inspiration and role model. Mutual support and tolerance becomes a quality that children carry with them into life.
Environment
We are based on full trust in children and their positive inner direction, talents and uniqueness. We accept children as they are, without labels or external judgement. We place the utmost emphasis on stimulus variety, aesthetic qualities, safety, non-violence and respectful communication. The children's education is supported by guides who are in the role of partner and are constantly engaged in self-development and further education.
